The 2010 Cherry Valley International Kite Festival
The Kite Festival is held every two years, most recently on September 18th, 2010.

Artworks first event in August 2004 was A Day in Cherry Valley Hundreds of disposable cameras were distributed throughout the community. Participants had 24 hours to capture their vision of Cherry Valley. The following weekend over 600 photographs were displayed capturing a community’s view of itself.

The first Cherry Valley International Kite Festival was held in September of 2006 and will be held every other year. Kite flyers and builders from around the country and from Canada filled the skies over Cherry Valley with their amazing creations. The next Kite Festival will be held in September 2010.

Cherry Valley Summer Sculpture Trail features sculptures and site-specific installations along Main Street, Cherry Valley. Both local and regional artists are encouraged to participate in the three-month long exhibit.

Spring 2007 saw the beginning of the first Artworks Art Classes for both adults and children. Life Drawing, Pottery, Photography, Writing, and Landscape Drawing were all featured. Artworks hopes to continue these classes and expand our offerings. If you are interested in conducting a class please contact Artworks.

Our first theatre production
of The Cherry Valley Radio Players present Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" was in December of 2007. Greeted with great enthusiasm it was followed in 2008 by "Christmas with a Twist", a humorous look at the holiday. In December 2009 the Radio Players presented the holiday classic "It's A Wonderful Life". In December 2010 Cherry Valley Artworks presented a double-bill -- Punch and Judy and the Golden Ball and Heckity Peg and the Christmas Dinner PLUS special appearances by the Young Cherry Valley Players.

Windows on the Past-Creative Genius in Cherry Valley Local artists and writers used the store windows on Main Street, Cherry Valley as their venue for the interpretation of the art and contributions of significant writers, artists, scientists and social activists from the distant and recent past whose lives were intertwined with Cherry Valley.
